Fanart of one of my favorite characters from Terry Pratchett's Discworld series.
Detrius the troll of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch and his custom seige crossbow he named "The Piecemaker". The bundle of arrows is blasted with so much force, it becomes a storm of shrapnel capable of opening both the front door and the back door at the same time.
Detrius is never described much more than "a large troll or a small mountain", so this is really just my interpretation. The seige crossbow, or ballista, with a few accomodations, is just based off pictures from the web.
Hey, Nice work! Great character! You've got some good technical drawing skills, obviously, since the depth in his crossbow is incredible. I like how well you utilize the off-whiteness of the paper in lots of your drawings
Thanks! It's been a long time since I drew something like that crossbow! And if you like Detrius, you should read Terry Pratchett's books, they're hilarious.
I'm absolutely boggled by his amazing rocky physique! --I could never quite imagine the Piecemaker, but this is beautiful! Good Watch helmet also; I've seen so many interpretations, but this is my favorite.
